Scope of Services and Description of Duties :
The consortium comprising NEWJEC Inc., Osaka, Japan, ATT and TEAM Consulting Engineers Co., Ltd. was selected as Consultant to study an overall regional transmission network linking the Mekong riparian countries with 500 kV or 230 kV transmission lines and then assessing the viability of the priority interconnections at pre-feasibility study level.
The main objectives of the study were:
1. to review the study of Mekong Integrated Transmission System to take into account the current situation of development in the Mekong region (basin – wide)
2. to assess the viability of the priority interconnections of the selected transmission networks at the pre-feasibility study level
3. to strengthen capability of technical personnel concerned in the riparian countries and the Mekong River Commission Secretariat in nature planning an integrated transmission system.
